Soapstone

With varied ratings of 1 to 5 on the Mohs Hardness Scale, Soapstone even at its highest is less durable than granite and lingers somewhere near marble. While durability is often desired for the usual wear and tear of well-loved countertops, what Soapstone lacks in durability it makes up for with density. Even though it can be scratched, density in stone makes it remarkably easy to clean with sanitary wipes and is sought after for that quality.
